Arnaud de Moussac relinquishing stables

SINGAPORE,  25 February 2004

Trainer Arnaud de Moussac will be relinquishing his stables at Kranji with effect from 15 March 2004.

The Frenchman has informed the Singapore Turf Club that the number of horses under his charge has dropped to the extent that he is unable to continue with his training business at Kranji.

The Club said in a statement that they "would like to thank Arnaud for his contributions to Singapore racing during his time at Kranji and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours".

De Moussac first came to this region to train at Ipoh in 2000, saddling six winner in his first season. He saddled the same number of winners the next year, including SADDLE UP in the Tunku Gold Cup which was then run over 2,000m.

The Bold Russian gelding became the first Indian bred to win a classic in the MRA circuit.

Later in the year, De Moussac relocated to Singapore and sent out four winners there.

De Moussac had his best season in the local circuit in 2002 when he saddled 13 winners in 2002. Last season, he managed eight winners.

He has just managed one winner this season and racing Singapore is taking a two-week break before resuming on 13 March.
