Royal Beauty disqualified
from Trophy race
KUALA LUMPUR, 3 June 2005 |
||
ROYAL BEAUTY, who finished third in the
RM100,000 National Stud Farm Trophy over 1200m on April 10, has been
disqualified from the race.
A few days after the event, Philip Dingwall, the Chief Stipendiary Steward, lodged an objection on behalf of the connections of the fourth place-getter O'BELLE, the grounds being that ROYAL BEAUTY, the third place-getter was ineligible for the race. The Racing Stewards of the Selangor Turf Club yesterday considered the objection. Evidence was taken from the Chief Stipendiary Steward, Dr Thang Su Ling, representative of the National Stud Farm, and K M Noordin, the trainer of ROYAL BEAUTY, who also represented the interests of ROYAL BEAUTY's owner. In the circumstances, the objection was upheld and ROYAL BEAUTY was disqualified from this race. Subsequently, Noordin was reprimanded for nominating ROYAL BEAUTY for this race for which it was ineligible. ROYAL BEAUTY was catalogued for the National Premier Sale in 2003 but was later withdrawn. The National Stud Farm Trophy is open to all graduates of the sale. |
