Emirates, the Dubai-based international
airline, and Singapore Turf Club (SNTC) will celebrate the longest-standing
partnership in Singapore’s horse racing history with the running of the
S$800,000 Emirates Singapore Derby on July 17.
Underlining the Dubai-based airline’s commitment to the key date in the local racing calendar and celebrating 10 years of partnership with SNTC, Emirates has lined up a series of exciting activities both on and off-track for racing enthusiasts. Stephen Chu, Emirates’ Area Manager for Singapore and Brunei, said: "Emirates’ 10th year of Derby sponsorship reinforces our commitment to promoting equestrian sports in many parts of the world including Dubai, London, Paris, Melbourne and of course, Singapore. We are proud to have played a role in helping horse-racing grow from strength to strength in Singapore. It has been a most rewarding partnership and we truly enjoyed working with the Singapore Turf Club throughout all these years." Annually, the Derby attracts some of Singapore’s best horses and this year, we expect the competition to be equally keen." In addition to the thrills of the race, invited guests can look forward to an exciting afternoon on Race Day, as Emirates brings back classic activities associated with the Derby. From exciting "Pick and Win" contests to lucky draws and best-dressed competitions, guests will be spoilt for choice with prizes galore offered at the 10th Emirates Singapore Derby. To celebrate the joyous occasion, Emirates will encourage its guests to take part in the "Best-dressed for the Races" contest, with the grand prize of three Emirates Business Class round-trip tickets to an Emirates destination for the three most appropriately-dressed guests invited to the race. In addition, guests can bid for unique racing memorabilia specially designed for the 10 th Emirates Singapore Derby, with the auction proceeds going to the Community Chest of Singapore.Apart from the Emirates Singapore Derby, the supporting races on Race Day will each be named after a destination that Emirates flies to. Emirates will also bring back the crowd-pleasing "Pick and Win" contest, where guests can predict the winning horses for each race on Derby Day. Three grand prizes and a bonus draw await invited guests who accurately predict the winning horses for the Emirates Singapore Derby. Extending the excitement and buzz of the 10th Emirates Singapore Derby into the public stands, general race-goers will be treated to contests with attractive prizes. |
