Spiteri and Segeon to stay on

SINGAPORE,  7 December 2005 

Expatriate jockeys Australian Aaron Spiteri and Frenchman Cedric Segeon will continue to ride at Kranji in 2006 after being granted six-month extensions to their respective freelance jockey permits by the Singapore Turf Club.

Spiteri, whose licence has been extended to July 5, has rode 12 winners and was placed 36 times since July. His biggest win was on board the John Meagher-trained LIM’S RANSOM in the $100,000 Shin Min Cup in August.

Spiteri, 27, has over 500 career wins and goes to scale at 51kg.

Segeon, whose licence has been extended to June 31, has also ridden his fairshare of winniners, scoring 11 times and placed on 33 ocasions since July. The Frenchman, who has yet to capture a feature win during his stint at Kranji, won a $100,000 Class event on the Charles Leck-trained GRAND CANYON in July.

Segeon, 23, has ridden over 200 winners and goes to scale at 54kg.
