Malaysia to telecast weekend HK races

KUALA LUMPUR,  17 August 2005

Buoyed by the encouraging response to the telecast of the mid-week races from Hong Kong last season, Pan Malaysian Pools (PMP) Sdn Bhd, the sole agent for the Totalisator Board of Malaysia, is making plans to operate on the weekend races as well in the new Hong Kong season starting Sept 4.

"The weekend meetings will have about eight to nine Malaysian races and the same number of races from Sha Tin. We're confident that interest towards these Hong Kong races will grow", a official of PMP was quoted as saying.

PMP will also be securing rights from the Hong Kong Jockey Club pertaining to the promotion and distribution of their horse racing information such as race card, trackwork and tips to local publications.
