SINGAPORE, 7 September 2005 |
||
To encourage the importation of good, young,
raced horses to Singapore, the Singapore Club (SNTC) is introducing
"Initiation Plate" races. The first such event will be run at
Kranji on Saturday with nine runners.
The "Initiation Plate" races, with prizemoney of $43,000 each, will be run under the following conditions: 1. For horses not older than four years of age. 2. For horses that have not won a race in the two years prior to nomination. 3. To be run under Weight-For-Age conditions. 4. Fillies and mares will be given a 1.5kg allowance. The above conditions, stated the SNTC, will allow young horses to compete amongst themselves on equal terms and not against older horses at handicap conditions. |
