Trainer Lam Mun Chew calls
it quits
IPOH, 10 August 2005 |

Lam Mun Chiew, the glamour boy of the saddle
in the seventies and eighties, has relinquished his Malayan Racing Association (MRA)
trainer's licence after a brief stint.
The Ipoh lad has found it tough preparing winners than he was riding them. Early this year, Lam applied for a six-month leave of absence and upon the expiry of his leave on July 9 decided not to return for good. As the stable jockey for the powerful Agasam Stable, Lam was one of the top jockeys of his days. After hanging up his boots, he obtained his training licence in 2001 and saddled only three winners that season. His improved his tally to seven the next season and maintained that figure in 2003. However, it was back to just three winners last year. |
