S H Oh's title dream
shattered

Three years ago, jockey Oh Seng Hong feared his career was over after being badly injured in a fall from CHEEKY STAR during a barrier trial in Penang. "Even the initial diagnosis from the doctor was not encouraging", he said later. He was out of the saddle for six months. Amazingly, not only did the nephew of former MRA champion Oo Khuang Liang bounce back, he has been riding in the form of his life this season, leading the table with 27 winners, three ahead of L Sofhan and Saimee Jumaat. But his dream of winning the title for the first time in his career has been dashed with a fall in Penang again yesterday morning. A shattered Oh said: "I'll be out for three to six months because the shine bone on the right leg is shattered in two places and needs to be be operated on." Among his successes this season are the Tunku Gold Cup (1200m) and the Selangor Gold Cup (1600m) astride SUPERB CLASSIC. |
