Bretham Tai withdraws appeal

KUALA LUMPUR,   7 October 2006

Bretham Tai has withdrawn his appeal against a 18-month disqualification and will out of action until March 9, 2008.

On September 19, Tai was disqualified and fined RM30,000 when the Stewards concluded an inquiry into his handling of LONG SOCKS which finished a smack-up fourth to MAIN POWER in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1600m handicap the previous day.

Tai filed an appeal but was not granted a stay of execution.

On September 19, Tai advised the Stewards that he wished to withdraw his appeal. The Racing Stewards acceded to his request on October 5 and his deposit was forfeited. Tai’s eighteen months disqualification will commence from September 10 and to expire on March 9, 2008, both days inclusive.
