New Zealand jockey Andrew Calder, 24, has been
granted a six-month freelance license by the Singapore Club and will
commence riding in Singapore from Nov 1.
Calder currently holds a Professional Jockey’s Licence with New Zealand
Thoroughbred Racing and with nearly 5,000 rides for over 500 winners.
He started his career in 1996 and during his four-year apprenticeship, he
rode 126 winners, including Group and Listed winners. On completing his
time, he secured the position of leading rider for the high profile Roger
James Stable.
Calder has also ridden in Australia, where in 2003 he became the number one
jockey for leading Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan and culminated his
successful stint, with a Listed win.
Calder, who has 19 Group races to his name including six Group One events,
goes to scale at 52kgs. |
