Superb General wins 1st challenge

KUALA LUMPUR,  20 August 2006

SUPERB GENERAL signalled his intention to take charge of the 2006 SLTC Juvenile Million Challenge series when he captured the 1st leg over 1400m at Sungei Besi today.

The four-year-old brown Australian horse by Danewin out of Dancing Best (by Cossack Warrior) went into the annual series for three and four year olds on the back of three consecutive wins.

And he continued to make improvement with every start. Ridden by Oscar Chavez for the fourth time, SUPERB GENERAL defeated two other last start winners ACE EMPEROR and GOLDEN PARIS in the 1st leg which carries RM175,000 in prizemoney.

As it name suggests, the Juvenile Million Challenge carries a total of RM1 million in prizemoney and bonuses.

Points are awarded to the first five horses past the post in each race and at the end of the three-race series, the five horses with the most number of points will earn a total of RM300,000 in bonuses.

The 2nd leg will be run over 1600m in October with prizemoney of RM225,000 and the final run in December, staged over 1800m, will be worth RM300,000.
