Leith Innes returns for six-month stint

New Zealand jockey Leith Innes will be returning to ride at Kranji for a six-month period beginning Monday.

The twenty-eight year old is popular with Singapore racing fans. He rode here for various periods between 2001 to 2005 and was successful on 24 occasions with 81 placings from 267 rides.

Innes, who has a wealth of international experience, is currently riding in New Zealand, and is presently fourth on the 2005/2006 jockey's premiership with 68 winners. He has ridden nine Group 1 winners, including the globetrotting STARCRAFT in the 2004 Mudgway Stakes, THE JEWEL in the 2005 Waikato Stud International Stakes, WAHID in the 2005 Mercedes Derby and AMBITIOUS OWNER in the 2006 Group 1 Levin Classic.

"I enjoy riding at Kranji and look forward to riding plenty of winners," remarks Innes who was champion New Zealand rider in the 2003/2004 season and goes to scale at 53kgs.
