||
Selangor Turf Club (SLTC) yesterday launched
the Horse Runners Scheme (HRS) for owners of home based horses and their
trainers.
SLTC Chairman Tunku Datuk Seri Shahabuddin said the objective of the HRS is to encourage horse ownership by subsidizing the training costs of owners and trainers. "The SLTC is very hopeful with the implementation of the HRS there will be an increase in the population of horse at the club." Under the HRS, owners of horses based at the SLTC will be paid RM500 as credit rebate for every qualified run at the Selangor races. Horse owners will also receive RM250 credit rebate for horses participating in races held in Perak and Penang. For SLTC-based trainers, it is a credit rebate of RM200 for every qualified horse for races held at SLTC and RM100 for races held at Perak and Penang. Details of HRS are as follows: (1) Open to all eligible (eligibility subject to Clause 2 of this proposal) SLTC based horses running in any SLTC, Penang Turf Club (PRTC) and Penang Turf Club (PNTC) races. (2) When number of starters is 10 or less, all SLTC based horses except for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last placing will qualify for HRS. When number of starters is 11 or more, all SLTC based horses except for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the last two placing horses will qualify. (3) For SLTC races, RM500 will be paid to an owner as credit rebate when the horse qualifies. The credit rebate will be offset against the training bill charged by the trainers. The trainer in turn shall receive this credit rebate from the club. The credit rebate shall be subject to deduction of offset against an outstanding amount owing to SLTC. (4) For SLTC races, RM200 will be paid to the trainer as credit rebate when the horse qualifies. This cash amount shall be subject to deduction of offset against any outstanding amount owing to SLTC. It will be the same procedure for the races held in Perak and Penang for owners and trainers. |
