VEGAS STAR

Two horses who had won their maiden appearances thousands of miles apart fought out the finish of the S$200,000 Juvenile Championship for two-year-olds over 1200m at Kranji tonight.

VEGAS STAR (ch.a.g Arena - Frogmore by Archregent), a runaway winner last month, teamed up jockey Alan Ng again to beat ROYAL STAR (b.nz.g Danske - Ramila by Beechcraft) by three quarters of a length. The latter had won his only start in New Zealand before coming to Singapore.

SAFETY OUTLET (b.a.c Favorite Trick - Safety Valve by Air de France), a debut winner two weeks ago after managed a second in two starts in Australia, was third.

VEGAS STAR has cost just A$11,000 as a yearling while ROYAL STAR went the hammer for just NZ$8,750.
