Why Be makes amends in
Challenge SINGAPORE, 9
June 2006 |
|
WHY BE, whose seven-race
winning streak came to an end in the Lion City Cup last month when he was
installed an odds-on favourite, made amends for that expensive defeat to win
the 1st leg of the Three-Year-Old Challenge over 1200m here tonight.
Equally at ease in whatever the going, the three-year-old bay Australian
gelding by Success Express out of the Royal Academy mare Charybdis made
every post a winning one to win by four lengths.
WHY BE, trained by Laurie Laxon, has now won ten times and was also second
twice in 13 starts.
MAGNUM FORCE (6 ch.nz.g Turbulent Dancer - Otehi Opal by Otehi Bay) returned
to form to register his first win of the season in the Open Handicap over
1600m.
Unplaced in two starts in Dubai at the start of the year, he managed just
two placings in five runs on his return before recording his tenth win
tonight.
MAGNUM FORCE was the third leg of a splendid treble for jockey Saimee Jumaat
who earlier scored on PATCHOULI (3 ch.nz.g Mellifont - Alrissa by Sackford)
and DIAMOND N ACE (5 b.a.g Torrential - Marcena by Marscay).
