ROYAL ADMIRAL put up a
superb performance to capture the S$350,000 Queen Elizabeth II Cup
over 2000m at Kranji today.
Having never won a feature
race before, the New Zealand five-year-old by Starjo out of the Lord Ballina
mare Kilmaghenny revelled in the heavy going to beat some top gallopers to
win the Singapore Group 2 event.
Winner of two races in New
Zealand when racing as TRAVIS, he scored five times last year but the big
races have eluded him, until today when he had the benefit of the jockeyship
of the red hot Noel Callow.
The Australian has been
riding in superb form. He struck four times for the first time yesterday and
repeated the feat today, including the last three races in a row. He now has
a eight-winner lead at the top of the table.
