Emit Time bags Sultan Gold Vase

EMIT TIME winning the Royal Turf Club of Thailand Trophy on Sept 8

EMIT TIME created a mild upset when he defeated the 'defending champion' ENCHANTED PRINCE to capture the RM300,000 Sultan Gold Vase over 1100m on the straight course here today.

Ridden by Sam Subian, the five-year-old by Gilded Time out of My Millennium (by Success Express) got home a head in front ENCHANTED PRINCE in a blanket finish, with SUPERB GENERAL and SMART LION making it four-in-a-line.

Winner of five races in Australia, EMIT TIME got off the mark in Malaysia when he triumphed in the Royal Turf Club of Thailand Trophy (1200m) last September.

EMIT TIME, trained by Dr S H Tan, had a poor outing in the Astro Wah Lai Toi Vase (1400m) last month but quickly bounced back for his second win in six starts.

In the other big race of the day, SUMMER FIESTA scored a record third consecutive victory in the RM300,000 Wira Malaysia Cup for Malaysian breds over 1600m.

It was the first time a horse has achieved the feat since the "derby" for local breds was introduced.
