Six-time champion jockey
Saimee Jumaat, who marked his return to race riding with a double last
Friday, repeated the feat today but this time he also rode away with the
S$200,00 Jumbo Jet Trophy.
Partnering KING AND KING for the first time,
Saimee struck up a perfect understanding with the Australian seven-year-old
by Celestial Dancer out of Merriang Road (by Persian Heights) to score by
one length from RECAST.
CAPABLANCA, bidding to make it four wins in a
row, had to settle for third in the Singapore Group 3 sprint over 1400m.
KING AND KING, winner of the Queen Elizabeth
II Cup, has returned to form after being unplaced in the same race this year
and also Singapore Airlines International Cup in May.
He has now won seven times in 22 starts at
Kranji, adding to his two wins achieved at Moonee Valley and Flemington
prior to coming to Singapore.
