Leck fined $90,000, six horses disqualified

SINGAPORE,  27 September 2007

Six horses trained by Charles Leck who had either won or was placed in May and June this year have been disqualified from their races after their samples were shown to contain Ranitidine.

In addition, Leck was also fined a total of $90,000 - $15,000 for each instance - at the conclusion of an inquiry yesterday during which Leck was charged under MRA Rule Of Racing 134(5).

Leck subsequently exercised his right of appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him on all charges. The appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.
