LIM'S OBJECTIVE revelled in
the mud once again to win the 1st leg of the Three-Year-Old Challenge over
1200m at Kranji here today.
Having raced five times
in the wet before today for four wins and a third, the Australian gelding by
O'Reilly out of the Bluebird mare Hasty Bird took advantage of the overnight
change in the state of the track to win by four lengths in the soft going from TOP SPIN,
himself a winner of four of his last five starts.
LIM'S OBJECTIVE was the
third leg of a splendid treble for Soo Khoon Beng who is getting back to
near his best riding form. Earlier, the 2005 champion jockey was successful
on ORION (4 gr.a.g Esperero - Exist by Bletchingly) and WHITE MAGIC (3
gr.a.g Irish Royal - Big Difference by Unbridled's Song).
CAPABLANCA (5 br.a.g Scenic
- Ahava by Southern Appeal), narrowly beaten by WHY BE in the Lion City Cup
last month, turned the tables on the latter when he scored a runaway win in
the Kranji Stakes A - 1200m sprint.
ARENTI, a disappointing
fifth in that race, redeemed himself somewhat to finish second with WHY BE
coming home third.
