Australian apprentice
jockey Ryan Plumb is returning to the Kranji riding ranks after he was
granted a three-month visiting jockey’s licence by the Singapore Turf Club.
The permit will run from June 15 to September 14.
Just like during his one-month stay in February, the 18-year-old rider will
come under the care of trainer Steven Burridge. Plumb, who is the son of
Brisbane jockey-turned-trainer Lyle Plumb, enjoyed a fruitful Singapore
stint chalking up four wins from 46 rides.
He quickly re-established himself in Queensland after returning from
Singapore but his career was curtailed by two race falls during which he was
sidelined for two months. Plumb has however made a successful comeback, and
achieved another important milestone when he scored his first Sydney win at
his very debut meeting on June 2.
Plumb won the North Queensland apprentice premiership in 2005/06 and also
holds the record of being the youngest Queensland apprentice to clock up
1,000 rides. He goes to scale at 50kgs. ![](endtext.jpg) |
