POWER FOR GLORY made up for
his disappointing runs in the Astro Wah Lai Toi Vase and Coronation Cup to
win the RM150,000 Anniversary Cup over 1700m here today.
Winner of two races at the
provincial tracks of Echuca and Werribee in Australia, the Australian
gelding was also placed twice at Caulfield and once at Sandown before coming
out to Malaysia.
After finishing third in
his debut, POWER FOR GLORY (Danewin - Famous Friend by Marooned) went on to
win his next two starts, including the Sports Toto Trophy over 1400m in
June.
After a let-up, he found
himself needing the runs in his last two appearances but he has clearly
benefited from the outings.
2005 Sprint Trophy winner
JERAM NEW VILLAGE (Faltaat - Encarta by Westminster) bounced back to form
after 25 months to win the RM100,000 Dr Lim Ah Soo Memorial Trophy over
1200m for his ninth career win.
