ENCHANTED PRINCE, narrowly
beaten into second spot in his attempt to win the Sultan Gold Vase for the
second year last month, made amends to win the RM200,000 Japan Bloodhorse
Breeders Association Trophy over 1200m here today.
The inaugural running of
the Class 1 & 2 event was scheduled for September, when the Sprint Trophy
weekend's races were cancelled because of the the unsafe track.
The postponement gave
ENCHANTED PRINCE (Piccolo - Enchanting Eyes by And Behold) the perfect
opportunity to register his first win of the season but his eighth career
win.
The Penang Turf Club today
also staged the Japan Racing Association Trophy, a reciprocal race with the
Japan Racing Association hosted on rotation by the four associated clubs.
It, too, was originally scheduled for September.
The Class 3, Div 1 - 1400m
sprint produced a thrilling finish when GOLD BADE (Centaine - Harapan Besar
by Century) scored by a nose for his seventh win in 36 starts.
