Royal Stars shines in 3YO challenge

ROYAL STAR came good after two close calls this season to snatch victory in the 2nd leg of the Three-Year-Old Challenge over 1400m at Kranji here today, thanks to another superb ride by jockey-of-the-moment Noel Callow.

Second in the Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (1200m) and second in the Singapore Guineas (1600m), the New Zealand gelding by Danske out of the Beechcraft mare Ramila managed only fifth in the first leg over 1200m.

But the extra distance was more to his liking today, as he was able to race well up with the pace and then held off the challenge of LIM'S OBJECTIVE, a clear winner in the first leg. TOP SPIN, second in the first leg, was relegated to third this time.
