Saimee Jumaat hits magical 1,000-mark

KUALA LUMPUR,  4 November 2007

Malaysia and Singapore's most successful jockey Saimee Jumaat booted home a treble today to bring his personal tally to 1,001 wins.

Back from serving a 12-month disqualification less than two months ago, Saimee has been making up for lost time in rapid fashion. In a matter of a few weeks, Saimee chalked up 25 wins including four winners in one afternoon at Kranji.

A treble at Kranji on Friday night was followed by a solitary winner yesterday, and another treble today brought him to yet another milestone for the six-time champion MRA jockey.

Saimee began his winning strike on MEDICINE MAN (Dr Johnson - Middle Ground by Francis Bacon) and he hit the magical 1,000-mark with GRISHAM (Justice Prevails - La Reason by Sound Reason) in the Class 5, Div 5 - 1400m sprint.

Saimee's third winner of the afternoon came on ZHEN DAO (Nothin' Leica Dane - Poets' Best by Our Poetic Prince).
