Why Be to tackle Hong Kong Sprint

SINGAPORE,  22 November 2007

Singapore's undisputed sprint king WHY BE will take on the best from the rest of the world in the HK$12m Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint over 1200m at Sha Tin on Dec 9.

WHY BE earned the invite after chalking up his 20th career win from just 26 starts at Kranji last week.

In Hong Kong, WHY BE will face Australia's top sprinter MISS ANDRETTI, winner of the King's Stand Stakes in record time at Royal Ascot in June. Victory for the Lee Freedman-trained mare would clinch her the Global Sprint Challenge and the title of the world's best sprinter.

Three horses from Great Britain, two from France and half a dozen from Hong Kong, including last year's winner ABSOLUTE CHAMPION, have been short listed for the Hong Kong Sprint.
