Lee Yoke Bill's licence cancelled

IPOH,  16 April 2007

The professional trainer licence of Lee Yoke Bill has been cancelled.

Ipoh based Lee has been amongst the front runners in the trainer's championship in recent years, winning the title in 2005 with 49 winners.

Last year, Lee led the table by six winners going into the final meeting of the season. But he was left without a single horse after his sole owner pulled out his entire string of horses.

Frank Maynard took advantage of the situation by saddling seven winners to claim the title for the first time.

Lee was given three months, until March 31, by the Malayan Racing Association (MRA) to secure horses to continue his operations.

But his licence was cancelled on March 22 after he apparently informed the MRA that he will not resume training.
