Singapore will introduce a
new and exciting bet named “EVENS and ODDS” and eventually discontinue
“TRIPLE TRIO” which is losing popularity.
“EVENS and ODDS” will be introduced on a trial basis from Jan 30. The bet
will be offered for all races and all meetings. To win, customers need to
select the even or odd saddlecloth number of the winning horse. The winning
dividend is calculated based on the total of the “EVENS and ODDS” pool,
after tax and commission, divided by the number of winning units.
In the event there are less than four starters in a race, or should there be
four or more starters but less than two starters with the EVEN or ODD
saddlecloth numbers, the bet will not be offered.
If there are withdrawals or scratchings, a refund will be made if, resulting
from the withdrawals and scratchings, there are less than four starters or
only one of the remaining starters has an “EVEN” or “ODD” saddlecloth
number.
In the event of a dead-heat for first place between two or more horses, the
winning dividend will be paid according to whether the winners carry EVEN or
ODD saddlecloth numbers. For example, should there be dead-heat between two
horses with EVEN saddlecloth numbers, the net pool will be paid out to those
who purchased the EVEN bet.
A refund will be made in the following situations:
• Dead-heat for first place comprising a horse with an EVEN saddlecloth
number and a horse with an ODD saddlecloth number;
• Only horses with EVEN saddlecloth numbers are backed;
• Only horses with ODD saddlecloth numbers are backed;
• There is no finisher, or
• Race is declared void.
The cost per unit bet is $10 and the minimum guaranteed dividend is $11.
A new betting coupon with the “EVENS and ODDS” option will be made
available. The bet can also be purchased through Self-Betting Kiosks at the
racecourse, Off-Course Betting Centres, and at Singapore Pools’ outlets that
sell totalisator bets. It is also available through Telebet, via the
Operator-Assisted and TeleTote Services, including Express Bet. It is
however not available through ACCESS.
The Club will be discontinuing the TRIPLE TRIO (TTR) once the current pool,
including the carried forward jackpot, is won for the Singapore, Malaysia
and Hong Kong meetings.
Feedback from customers show that interest for TTR has declined over the
last few months in favour of single-leg bet types. The existing Progressive
Minimum Gross Pool for the Singapore TTR will remain until TTR is
discontinued. |
