For the second year running and the third time in its history, the Sprint Trophy has been washed out by rain.

Intermittent moderate to heavy rain yesterday forced the cancellation of the races after just four races have been run.

Rain continued into the night yesterday and after an inspection of the track this morning, the Penang Turf Club racing stewards decided to call off the races today.

Besides the RM1m Astro Wah Lai Toi Sprint Trophy, the RM400,000 Malaysian 2008 Magic Millions Classic was also set to be contested today.
