CHEVRON is on course for a
crack at the Singapore Gold Cup after capturing his second Group race in the
Group 3 Committee's Prize over 1600m at Kranji today.
CHEVRON (Medicean -
Lishaway by Polish Precedent) set a brisk pace but compounded in the
straight in the Singapore Airlines International Cup last May.
After a short let-up, he
finished second over 1200m last time out and found the longer trip today
much more to his liking, leading all the way to beat the favourite THE
HORNET.
CHEVRON's seven previous
wins included the Group 2 Singapore Derby Trial last year.
CHEVRON was the third leg
of a splendid treble for jockey Saimee Jumaat and the third of four winners
for trainer Charles Leck this afternoon.
