Flame Cat too hot for rivals in President Cup

PENANG,  6 July 2008

The very promising FLAME CAT justified his favourite tag when he scored a popular win in the RM100,000 President Cup for Class 2 horses over 1700m here today.

Sent out at odds-on after having recorded five wins in 16 previous starts and a string of good performances of late, the American horse by Chelsey Cat out of Northern Nueces (by Northern Flagship) won comfortably by three quarters of a length to pay RM8 for a win.

FIRST ASTRONAUT (Towkay - Icicles by Kingdom Bay), placed four times in eight starts when racing as Lucky One in New Zealand, has found mark in his second start in Malaysia when he scored a narrow win in the Class 4 - 1200m sprint.

Indian jockey Imran Chisty, who broke through for his first win in the MRA circuit here last week, added another when he booted home FAST TYCOON (Last Tycoon - Come On Klaire by Sir Tristram) in the last event today to conclude a fruitful meeting in Penang.
