Flame Cat easy winner in Equine Capital Cup

PENANG,  31 August 2008

FLAME CAT, winner of the Class 2 President Cup here last time out, captures his second consecutive feature races when he took out the RM100,000 Equine Capital Cup today.

Ridden by Y Aify, the American horse by Chelsey Cat out of the Northern Flagship mare Northern Nueces led his combined Classes 1 & 2 rivals on a merry chase and went to the line a comfortable winner.

It was his seventh win in 18 outings and probably secures him a berth in the RM1m Sprint Trophy next week.

Despite the still soft underfoot, well backed horses won all but one of the nine races on the card, the exception being TASHI DELEK (Celestial Dancer - Cranborne Chase by Handy Proverb) who registered his first win in 23 months to pay RM142 for a win.
