After securing placings with his first two runners, Michael Freedman quickly made his mark in the Singapore scene when newcomer NTINI outclassed his rivals to win the Class 3 - 1100m sprint on the fibresand at Kranji here today.

NTINI (Johannesburg - Delia by Geiger Counter), a A$100,000 yearling who won three races in Australia, started odds-on and cruised to a three-and-a-half-length victory for the youngest of the famed Freedman brothers.

Three years ago, eldest brother Lee captured the Group 1 Singapore Airlines International Cup with MUMMIFY and Michael is set to become another big name on the local scene.

WAIKATO, who finished a creditable fourth to TAKEOVER TARGET in the KrisFlyer International Sprint last month, is back in the winner's circle with his ninth win in 16 starts in the Open Handicap over 1200m.

WAIKATO (Pins - Skywalker Wilkes by Skywalker) was the second leg of a double for Saimee Jumaat who earlier on scored on LION KING (Lion Hunter - Vivacious Kate by Ifrad), the gelding returning to racing after nearly 14 months.

The double took Saimee's tally to 38 and he now leads by one winner from Danny Beasley who is serving a suspension.
