Glory Road coasts home for
spectacular upset

GLORY ROAD scored one of
the biggest upsets in the history of racing in Malaysia and Singapore when
he triumphed in the Class 5, Div 2 - 1100m sprint over the straight course
here today.
Never in the picture in
eight starts previously, the three-year-old colt by Aucash out of Numero (by
Grand Lodge) coasted home by one and three quarters lengths to pay RM1,298
on course.
GLORY ROAD is one of the
most modest imports into the country. Sold for A$3,000 as a yearling, he was
picked up for just A$8,000 at the Horses In Training Sale as a two-year-old.
The day's race ended
prematurely when the last race had to be cancelled because of torrential
rain.
