HAPPY VICTORY completed a
hat-trick with a superb victory in the RM200,000 Dewar's 12 Sprint over
1200m at Sungei Besi here today.
The Australian gelding by
King's Best out of Bylaw (by Lear Fan) had won his last two starts starting
at odds-on but this time around, punters went to town on TIME SPEED (Second
Empire - Lilliegold by Twenty Four Karat) who was going his fourth win in a
row.
But HAPPY VICTORY, ridden
by Azhar Ismail, proved too strong for TIME SPEED, winning by three quarters
of a length for his fourth win in 12 starts.
Meanwhile, Perak Derby
winner KIKO'S RETURN (Minardi - Joe's Girl by Amalgam) resumed from a short
let-up to make it seven consecutive wins in the Sichuan Earthquake Relief
Charity Cup for Class 1 horses over 1200m.
It was first win over the
distance, having recorded all his previous wins over 1600m and beyond. It
showed just what sort of form he is in at the moment.
KIKO'S RETURN was one of
four winners for trainer Johnny Lim for the day.
