JOLIE'S SHINJU put her
younger rivals to shame in the inaugural running of the Ladies Purse over
1200m at Kranji tonight.
The only three-year-old in
the fillies and mares contest, JOLIE'S SHINJU (Jolie's Halo - Endearing
Quality by Danzig), who has never been out of board in nine starts, romped
to a three-length win, her fourth for the Japanese filly who has just been
transferred to Hideyuki Takaoka.
Ladies Purse has been
introduced to add more excitement to the Ladies Night and JOLIE'S SHINJU
herself now looks an exciting prospect for the Four-Year-Old Series next
year.
Saimee Jumaat did not
feature in the final Singapore meeting of the season tonight as he is
serving a suspension. But it did not
matter as he has already wrapped up the title with 86 wins.
Robbie Fradd booted home
AMADEUS MOZART (Mozart - Lindesberg by Doyoun) to pip Noel Callow for second
placing on 67 wins, one ahead of the 2007 champion.
Laurie Laxon drew a blank
with his three runners tonight but still retained the trainer's title with
71 wins. Patrick Shaw saddled two wins, PRINZIO (Pure Prize - Ponderosa Dama
by Rare Performer) and AMADEUS MOZART, to finish second on 67, one ahead of
John Meagher.
The leading apprentice this
season is Mark Ewe with 16 winners.
