Leck's three horses disqualified

SINGAPORE,  1 April 2008

Three horses trained by Charles Leck who ran unplaced on July 20 last year have been disqualified from their respective races at the recommencement of an inquiry yesterday.

Samples taken from ARABIAN STAR, KINGTRAP and JUSTOHELP were found to contain the presence of Metabolites of Acepromazine, a prohibited substance under the MRA Rules of Racing.

Leck was found guilty to the following charges under MRA Rule of Racing 134(5) in that he was the trainer and person responsible for presenting ARABIAN STAR, KINGTRAP and JUSTOHELP at the meeting.

After taking submissions from Leck in regards to penalty and following advice of matters regarding police investigations, the Stipendiary Stewards adjourned to consider the matter of penalty and will hand down their determination at a date to be fixed.
