BIG MAVERICK is on track to
make clean sweep of the three-year-old "triple crown" after another
scintillating display in the second leg of the S$350,000 Singapore
Three-Year-Old Challenge over 1400m at Kranji tonight.
Winner of the first leg
over 1200m when coming from a long way back at the home turn, the New
Zealand gelding by O'Reilly out of Ajfan (by Woodman) was up with the pace
this time and coasted home by two and a quarter lengths from THE HORNET
(High Yield - Millennium Miss) who had finished fourth in the first leg.
BIG MAVERICK was the second
of a double for Saimee Jumaat who extends his lead at the top of the
jockey's table but it was Robbie Fradd who stole the thunder with four
winners.
Michael Freedman unveiled
another first-up winner in RIBEIRO (French Deputy - Ribe by Danehill), a
A$200,000 yearling who managed just one win in Australia before coming out
here.
