Lim's Objective equals 1200m course record

LIM'S OBJECTIVE cruises to the line with A Fiezan astride

LIM'S OBJECTIVE, freshened up after his unplaced run in the Singapore Gold Cup last November, upstaged spring king WHY BE to win the Open Handicap over 1200m.

In doing so, the 2007 Raffles Cup winner also equalled the short course record with his winning time of 1 min 9 secs which was first recorded by Australia's NORTH BOY in the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Sprint in 2002.

SAGITTARIUS (O'Reilly - Enthral by Three Legs), who came to Singapore with a big reputation having won four races in New Zealand and was placed second in the Group 1 Thorndon Mile when racing as O'BORIO, resumed after a 10-month layoff to beat WHY ME for second.

The victory was the eighth in 13 starts for LIM'S OBJECTIVE (O'Reilly - Hasty Bird by Bluebird) who was the top three-year-old last year with two wins in the Three-Year-Old Challenge series.
