Consistent REVOLTE is
shaping to be one of the best three-year-olds at Kranji after his
comfortable win in the S$200,000 Stewards' Cup over 1400m here today.
Third to ROCKET MAN in the
Magic Millions Orchid Trophy exactly a month ago, the Michael Clements
trained gelding came into his own in this three-year-olds only contest,
winning by one length from POWERFUL RULER who was second in the Orchid
Trophy.
REVOLTE (French Deputy -
Grilse by Rahy), bought for NZ$140,000 at the 2007 New Zealand Ready To Run
Sale, has now chalked up three wins and four placings in as many starts.
Clements, who last tasted
success in early November, unveiled another promising galloper when MAYNOOTH
(Rock Of Gibraltar - Cloister by Marduing) to win the Class 4, Div 3 - 1200m
sprint in his second starts at Kranji.
Bought for $320,000 as a
yearling, MAYNOOTH managed only a minor win in five starts in Australia but
may be beginning to show his true potential in his new surroundings.
MAYNOOTH is the third leg
of a splendid treble, his first in Singapore, for Irish jockey Mark
Gallagher.
