Ismadi and Kumarentheran suspended

Jockeys Ismadi Ismail and A Kumarentheran were today suspended two and three months respectively for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards here yesterday.

Ismadi was charged under MRA Rule 44(10) for his ride on GOLD LION who finished seocnd, beaten two and three quarters lengths, to SUMMER RED in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1400m handicap.

The particulars of the charge were that he failed to make sufficient effort to place his mount in a handy position as instructed and he failed to ride his mount with sufficient vigour in the straight.

Kumarentheran was charged under the same rule for his ride on POWER OF NINE, who finished ninth to WEALTH, in the combined Classes 3 & 4 - 1800m event.

The particulars of the charge were that after being cramped at approximately the 250m mark, he became unbalanced and remained unbalanced until shortly before the finish.
