The Malayan Racing Association has not renewed the licence of trainer Terry Tan, who was initially granted a four-month licence for the 2008 racing season.

During this period, however, Tan failed to saddle a single runner, effectively ending a long association with racing, first as a jockey and then as a trainer.

In recent years, winners have been few and far in between for Tan. He managed just two winners each in the past two seasons. He did fairly well in 2004 when he saddled 12 winners but his tally dropped to five the following year.

Meanwhile, trainer Osman Sidek has his licence renewed for the remainder of the season. Osman, like Tan, was initially granted a licence till Apr 30.

Osman saddled eight winners last year but has managed just one winner so far this season.
