TOP SPIN, ridden by a superb race by Saimee Jumaat, deservingly captures his first feature race with a narrow victory in the S$200,000 Three Rings Trophy over 1400m at Kanji here today.

Placed in all three legs of the Three-Year-Old Challenge and a splendid third in the Singapore Gold Cup last year, TOP SPIN (Arena - Gas by Strategic) staves off the determined challenge of ONCEUPONATIME to win by short head for his seventh win in 15 starts.

The consistent TOP SPIN, prepared by champion trainer by Laurie Laxon, has yet to finish out of the money and is the early favourite for the Singapore Derby in July.
