Top Spin rolls to Kranji Mile victory

TOP SPIN picked up his sixth Group wins of the season when he captured the S$500,000 Panasonic Kranji Mile over 1600m here today and has emerged as one of the horses to beat in the Singapore Gold Cup next month.

Third in the Gold Cup last year, TOP SPIN (Arena - Gas by Danehill) has been on a roll this season, winning the Three Rings Trophy, Four-Year-Old Mile, Chairman's Trophy, Singapore Derby Trial and the Singapore Derby.

In the Kranji Mile today, TOP SPIN accounted for two promising horses, last start Committee's Prize winner CHEVRON and THE HORNET, winner of the final leg of the Three-Year-Old Challenge.

Malaysia's Perak Derby winner KIKO'S RETURN was withdrawn from the race after samples taken from the gelding on arrival in Singapore indicated the presence of a prohibited substance.
