WAIKATO, the hottest
sprinter in Singapore in the last 12 months winning nine of 11 outings
during that period, added the Jumbo Jet Trophy to that list when he stormed
home to win the Group 3 event at Kranji here tonight.
Ridden by Saimee Jumaat who
has been on board most of his wins, the Laurie Laxon trained WAIKATO (Pins -
Skywalker Wilkes by Skywalker) overcame rough passages to win by half a
length.
WAIKATO was the best
Singapore finisher in the KrisFlyer International Sprint last May when
fourth to TAKEOVER TARGET and tonight's victory was his 11th in 18 starts.
