Waikato lands Singapore 4YO Sprint

WAIKATO annihilated his opposition to capture the S$200,000 Singapore Four-Year-Old Sprint over 1200m here today.

His winning time of 1 min. 9.2 secs. was just 0.2 second outside the course record set by Australia's NORTH BOY in the Group 3 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Sprint in 2002.

Ridden by Saimee Jumaat, WAIKATO (Pins - Skywalker Wilkes by Skywalker) went to the line on a tight hold by Saimee, finishing two and a quarter lengths ahead of ROYAL SMILE for his fifth consecutive win and his sixth in 11 starts.

The powerful Lim's Stable won the other feature races of the day.

The bang-in-form LIM'S FIGHTER (Flying Spur - Sky Watch by Star Watch) easily accounted for his rivals in the S$125,000 RDA Cup (Open - 1400m) for his fourth win in his last five outings.

The former Juvenile Championship runner-up is on a roll and has now won eight times in 30 starts.

LIM'S ZERPERB (Zerpour - Hugging by Beveled), winner of the Stewards' Cup in 2005, took out the S$95,000 Britt Langstraat Cup (Benchmark 83 - 1400m) for his sixth win in 32 outings.
