Why Be gains revenge in
Merlion Trophy

WHY BE gained sweet revenge
when he outsprinted LIM'S FIGHTER to win the S$200,000 Merlion Trophy over
1200m at Kranji here today.
WHY BE was resuming earlier
this month after his failed attempt in the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint last
December when he went down to LIM'S FIGHTER in a Kranji Stakes A - 1200m
event.
With Saimee Jumaat back in
the saddle, WHY BE (Success Express - Charybdis by Royal Academy) made all
the running and easily held off LIM'S FIGHTER to win by half a length for
his 21st win in 30 starts.
It was two feature wins in as many days for
Saimee and trainer Laurie Laxon after the success with TOP SPIN in the
Singapore Four-Year-Old Mile yesterday.
