Yakin bags Dato Yeoh Cheang Lee Trophy

IPOH,  28 September 2008

YAKIN, starting for only the third time this season, snatched a thrilling win in the RM60,000 Dato Yeoh Cheang Lee Memorial Trophy here today.

Ridden by S Salee, YAKIN (Danasinga - Lakshimi by Canny Lad) outstayed the two favourites ROYAL GALLOPER and RORT THE SYSTEM in the combined Classes 2 & 3 - 1800 handicap for his fifth win in 16 starts.

WU JIN, with two wins and a second in his last three starts, surprisingly started at generous odds in the Da Ma Cai Stakes (Class 4 - 1800m) which saw an all-outsider finish. WU JIN (Waterford Road - Bestori by Vettori) prevailed to pay RM83 for a win.

There was another surprise in Race 3 when HOT OR NOT (Towkay - Glacier Queen by Famous Star), who finished down the field in his last two starts, bounced back to register his third win to pay RM200 for a win.
