Yap off the mark on Think Of The Past

KUALA LUMPUR,  18 Oct 2008

It was third time lucky Yap Kin Yin on THINK OF THE PAST in the opening event at Sungei Besi here today.

The first season apprentice, who rode the gelding twice for two placings, made it this time when the partnership captured the Restricted Maiden - 1400m event.

It was the first maiden success in 14 rides for Yap who is indentured to Francis Nathan, trainer of THINK OF THE PAST (Express Duke - Eileen O'Farrell by Sky Chase).

BRILLIANT DECISION (Perfect Mandate - Visionist by Bertrando) won the first of two races for northern hemisphere three-year-olds specially scheduled for the tailend of the season.

Trainer Johnny Lim, who jets off to Singapore tomorrow to saddle KIKO'S RETURN in the Panasonic Kranji Mile, had a nice send-off when ROYAL JET (Sakti - Pay 'N Gold by Cache Of Gold) won the Dato Sir Thuraisingham Trophy (Class 3 - 1800m).
