THE ABLE ONE (formerly
Etihaad), who failed to score for two seasons in Australia after chalking up
a solitary win at three, was quick to leave his mark in his debut in
Malaysia when he triumphed in a Class 4 - 1400m sprint here today.
With Yan Weng
Kuan in the saddle, THE ABLE ONE (Carnegie - Sahayb by Zabeel) beat
the in-form TOUGH QUESTION to win by one and a quarter lengths.
Placed at Morphettville
from just two starts at two, he was successful over 1412 at Semyour and was
placed once in four outings the following season.
But he managed just three
placings, all at Geelong, in 11 starts after that before he came out to
Malaysia for trainer Hoy Kee Poh.
Cecil Robert, meanwhile,
had his best day for some time when he saddled three winners - MIGHTY ACE,
LORD GREG and SEE ME FLY - today.
It was a remarkable treble
as both MIGHTY ACE (Langfuhr - Blue Ibis by Dolphin Street) and the
10-year-old LORD GREG (Oregon - Daulomani by Dance Floor) had gone through
the last four years without any success.
